§ 5.24.190. Taximeter required.

  • A.

    It is unlawful for the owner, operator or driver of any taxicab or public vehicle to operate or cause to be operated, or drive or cause to be driven, any taxicab on the streets of the city unless the taxicab is equipped with a taximeter to keep the same accurate at all times, and the taximeter shall be subject to inspection by the chief of police or his assistants at any time.

    B.

    It is unlawful for the driver of a taxicab, while carrying passengers, to operate the taxicab unless the taximeter is in a recording position.
