§ 5.28.080. License fee.

  • A.

    In order to defray a part of the expense necessary to provide for the surveillance, supervision and inspection of motor vehicle junkyards required under the terms of this chapter, there is a fixed license fee, which shall be collected from any person operating a motor vehicle junkyard in the city, in the amount specified in Section 1.12.040.

    B.

    No license for the operation of a motor vehicle junkyard shall be issued unless and until the city council has issued the certificate of approval under the terms of this chapter.

    C.

    The license required by this chapter may be renewed from year to year, upon payment of the same fee as required for the original license, so long as the original certificate of approval remains in effect and the licensee strictly complies with all the requirements and provisions of this chapter.
