§ 1.12.030. Public safety and municipal court fees.

    Ambulance Service Fee.

    a.

    The base ambulance charge shall be a standard fee of one thousand twenty-five dollars for a resident and one thousand one hundred twenty-five dollars for a nonresident for any ambulance response (a call that is initiated by a private individual or on behalf of a private individual whenever a genuine need for ambulance service exists), plus

    b.

    Actual cost to fire department for medical supplies and/or equipment rendered to the patient, plus

    c.

    Seven dollars per mile for patient transport from the point of pick-up to the point of delivery, plus

    d.

    One hundred twenty-five dollars for treatment on scene with no transport.

    12.

    Municipal Court Fees. The municipal court judge for the city of Benbrook has the authority to set, increase, decrease, or waive court fees at his or her discretion and in accordance with the laws of the state of Texas. The municipal court clerk and/or his or her designated representative shall collect these specified fees at the appropriate times and under the direction of the municipal court administrator. All applicable state fees and/or court costs shall be added as set forth by the laws of the state of Texas.

    13.

    Municipal Court Technology Fee.

    a.

    The fee shall be in the amount of four dollars. The fee shall be assessed and collected from the defendant upon conviction for a misdemeanor offense in the municipal court as a cost of court. A defendant is considered convicted if:

    (A)

    A sentence is imposed on the person;

    (B)

    The person is placed on community supervision, including deferred adjudication community supervision; and

    (C)

    The court defers final disposition of the person's fine.

    The fee shall be collected on conviction for an offense committed on or after December 17, 1999. The clerk of the court shall collect the fee and pay the fee to the municipal treasurer of the city of Benbrook, who shall deposit the fee in the municipal court technology fund.
